Grzegorz Rogala to artysta o niezwykle bogatym życiorysie i licznych nagrodach w dziedzinie produkcji filmowej. Sam fakt, że wyprodukował lub brał udział w produkcji około 800 produkcji filmowych i reklamowych jest imponujący. Osobiście intryguje mnie również fakt, że zajmuje się on również instalacjami interaktywnymi. W większości projektów, nad którymi pracował w ciągu ostatnich kilku lat, widoczne jest jego zainteresowanie technologią, która może służyć jako środek wyrazu w sztuce. Publiczności w Wielkim Tyrnowie znany jest z projektu POLISH DIGITAL FOLK ART, który prezentowany był na przełomie czerwca i lipca 2022 roku w Rafael Mihailov Exhibition Halls. Cechą charakterystyczną tego projektu było wykorzystanie sztucznej inteligencji (AI) w celu stworzenia dzieła sztuki. Projekt prezentowany na obecnej wystawie w Wielkim Tyrnowie nosi nazwę GALERIA NIEZNANYCH ARTYSTÓW. Tutaj artysta ujawnia się w zupełnie innym świetle, pokazując nam prace tylko w czerni i bieli. Ponieważ nie znałem wcześniej koncepcji artysty, mogę podzielić się tylko moimi osobistymi wrażeniami. Prace są w większości fotografiami, a przynajmniej sprawiają takie wrażenie. Do tematu nieznanego artysty podchodzi się z różnych stron, które ostatecznie prezentują nam wielowymiarowy obraz, który oglądany globalnie staje się właściwie instalacją lub sekwencją kadrów i fabuł, które łączą się w spójny projekt. Rytm czerni i bieli zmienia się teraz w całe portrety, a potem w delikatny raster różnych obiektów lub wzorów, czasem zaś w linie i plamy. Ogólne wrażenie z całości wszystkich prac to fantastyczny, szalony, surrealistyczny świat. Coś, co dzieje się w głowie każdego, kogo możemy nazwać artystą myślącym obrazami.

Grzegorz Rogala is an artist with an extremely rich biography and numerous awards in the field of film production. The very fact that he has produced or participated in the production of around 800 film and commercial productions is impressive. Personally, the fact that he also works in the field of interactive installation is also intriguing to me. In most of the projects he has worked on in the last few years, his interest in technology that can serve as a means of expression in art is evident. He is known to the audience in Veliko Tarnovo with the project POLISH DIGITAL FOLK ART, which was presented at the end of June and the beginning of July 2022 at the Rafael Mihailov Exhibition Halls. The characteristic feature of this project was the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in order to create a work of art. The project presented in the current exhibition in Veliko Tarnovo is called GALLERY OF UNKNOWN ARTISTS. Here the artist reveals himself in a completely different light, showing us works only in black and white. As I am not familiar with the artist’s concept beforehand, I can share only my personal impressions. The works are for the most part photography, or at least give a convincing impression of being so. The theme of the unknown artist is approached from different angles that ultimately present us with a multifaceted image that, when viewed globally, actually becomes an installation or a sequence of frames and storylines that connect into a cohesive project. The rhythm of black and white turns now into entire portrait images, now into a delicate raster of different objects or patterns, and sometimes into lines and spots. The overall impression from the totality of all the works is of a fantastic, crazy, surreal world. Something that goes on in the head of anyone we can call an artist who thinks in images.
